This holiday season, you'll see lots of recommendations for gifts for the writer in your family or circle of friends.
I know these two items are truly essential gifts that the writer in your family either needs or will want (if they don't have them already)! Used together, they are true hand-savers.
ErgoMagic Keyboard. I've used this keyboard for years. I started just out of college, when I was a newspaper reporter and my hands, elbows and shoulders hurt so bad I had to wear wrist splints daily. This is hands down (or to the side, I should say!) the most comfortable keyboard I've every encountered. My pain evaporates when I use this. It makes such a difference to be able to type at a close to 90-degree angle, the way your hands want to be, were made to be. Never stop making this keyboard, Comfort Systems!
Again, I've used this program for years, for the same hand and elbow pain reasons. I have a top of the line, acoustic music recording-quality microphone to go with it. It does mean I can't draft/write in public -- the microphone picks up too much background and interference noise, and I don't like to shush people when I'm writing (it comes off wrong), so I tend not to join write-in groups. However, when I'm first drafting or following an outline for the first time, or writing character profiles, this is an absolute arm-saver!
