I won't often digress from reviewing children's books, discussing writing or offering ideas and resources for teaching, but this weekend we finally watched the latest Avengers movie and my husband had to share the Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War comic books (6 issues in each series) on which the Avengers' "Infinity Stones" storyline is based.
I have to admire how the screenwriters have taken the best storytelling elements from both comics (and discarded some odd ones - it was the 90s), made changes, and created a string of really strong Avengers stories. It's almost as if these were the first two rough drafts of the blockbuster we saw in movie theaters.
It's grossed almost $2 billion at box offices world wide (as of May 27). Wow. Way to go, Stan Lee! You've got die-hard fans, like my husband, rooting through the comic book collection after 20+ years trying to figure out what the last movie will do.
And, we just picked up this new Stan Lee biography!
