Eek, this one has got me punning, too!
First of all, we pun at dinnertime - incessantly. As a whole family. We can start a pun and continue for minutes of word play! So, if ever anyone could enjoy this book, it's us.
It's also the second book I've read this year where characters - kids - brave a morgue or, in this case, a cadaver lab. Proximity to the dead is a "hot" plot device during Halloween!
Fovea Munson works in her parents' cadaver lab. She's not supposed to go in the back, with the bodies, of course, but when her parents leave her in charge (in the lobby) with a receptionist who takes off, all heck breaks loose.
Three heads who spend a lot of time arguing, when they aren't singing barbershop, are left out to thaw and come to life, and they've got a whopper of a favor to ask from Fovea.
Mix in a plethora of puns, partying grannies and Fovea desperately trying to keep three unruly talking heads under wraps, and you've got a great reading romp.
Doesn't hurt that "mortify" is one of my favorite verbs, as well.
Enjoy!
