I knew, when we last left Drest (see my blog post on the first book), that there were going to be consequences for springing her brothers and father from their chains and rescuing the Lord of Faintree Castle.
A real bad guy has moved into the power vacuum Drest created, Sir Oswyn, and he's constantly 10 steps ahead of Drest, anticipating her moves, cutting off her attempts at escape.
I won't reveal how it ends, but will say, Drest comes out on top!
