This is the second year my oldest will be interviewing a YA author through her volunteer work at her local library for the Tucson Festival of Books.
This year, they're interviewing author Lisa McMann. She's an Arizona resident, so she does a number of appearances and book promotions in our state, and our local librarian assured my daughter, "She's a great interview."
My daughter's reading the entire series, checked out from the library, to prepare. Teens also attended a workshop on how to interview authors, and specifically what types of questions to ask and not ask, prior to the date.
In her group, about five teens from at least two library branches will gather around a recording table in a sound studio at Arizona Public Media, on the UA campus, and ask their questions. At a later date, they edit the video/ sound and the library then posts it on social media. I'll provide the link here, once they post it.
You can find previous teen audio interviews, by year, here.
