This was a touching time-travel story, taking you back to Queen Elizabeth's time.
Rose loses her parents and ends up living with her grandmother, who suffers from dementia of some sort which magically goes away whenever she's puttering in the greenhouse.
One day after school, after being bullied, Rose is upset and walks through the greenhouse...and into 15th century England, where she becomes a maid to a very young Princess Elizabeth.
