At one point while reading this, I laughed so hard I started crying! No subject is off limits for being made fun of -- from a chronically farting dachshund to math worksheets with no real-world applications.
The story begins when Noah Savino, who has been stuck in a wheelchair for 7th grade after a car accident killed his father, is introduced to Double-Wide (who, as his name suggests, is twice the height and girth of every 7th grader at school). A friendship blossoms between the boys and Noah's long-time elementary school friend, Alyssa, whose boobs are now at Noah's eye-level and making it difficult for him to think. And talk. At the same time.
Together, with help from a curmudgeonly neighborhood baseball coach, they're determined to teach the school and Little League Baseball bully a lesson -- a baseball lesson. Along the way, Noah decides he's not going to sit on the sidelines of his own recovery any longer. And in between it all, there's Mission MUD (or GMU) to sneak itching powder into the Cardinal mascot costume during a game and force the man underneath to expose his identity... And I was laughing so hard I cried!
