This is the year I've finally got a finished MS I'm super-duper proud of and I'm dedicated to finding as many opportunities for feedback on it that I can.
I came across these Secret Agent Contests a while back, but I couldn't tell when one was open or closed, and they don't seem to have a set schedule.
I want to try as many of these as I can, so don't forget WriteMentor and Revise&Resub's annual contests in just a few days.
A notice that a new Secret Agent Contest was opening was posted in an online writing group, and I checked it out.
Mark your calendar for April 13. This contest is for:
- Completed MSs only.
- Adult, YA, and MG. Check to see if your genre is being accepted. Mine -- YA fantasy -- is.
- One entry per author, only.
It's free and 50 entries will be picked. Authors receive feedback on the first 250 words of the MS.
The contest is only open from NOON to 6:00 PM EDT.
Follow the link to submit. I have no idea what else is required -- query, snyopsis, etc.?
Like I said, I've never done this before, and I can't see a way to prepare, other than to pull out the first 250 words of my MS and have it ready to go.
Wish me luck.
If you decide to submit to this contest, let me know. I'll cheer you on, too!
