I know everyone's worried about corona virus, but in the hopes that by April, we'll be looking at the light at the end of the tunnel...
WriteMentor is a slightly different MS mentoring competition. It's run and organized by Stuart White. I get the feeling (check out the spellings - programme, organised) it's England or UK-based.
Interestingly, I can't find any restrictions on authors' countries-of-origin (such as a rule that say, only UK- or EU-based authors need apply), so I'm going to write about it here. If you know otherwise, please let me know in the comments below, and I'll add a note to this posting.
It's structured differently than PW or AMM or even Revise & Resub. You can apply for help with your query materials, or your full manuscript, but not both. If you are chosen for the full manuscript overhaul, you need to commit to four months of heavy editing. It does have a showcase at the end.
The application window is super short: April 15-17, BUT this is good news if you're also eyeing Revise & Resub, which is April 18-19.
For example, you could apply to this one for help with your query materials, and the other for help with the MS. They also offer two very different sets of mentors, so research them and find your MS's best fit before deciding which to apply to.
If you apply, let me know in the comments! I'll cheer for you. Wishing you all the best, always!
