There is no small amount of irony that I've chosen Strikingly to create a web page, when writers of children's fiction wage adverb eradication campaigns in their storytelling. I recently read a blog post recommending unpublished authors conduct "Search and Destroy" missions for -ly words in their manuscripts in order to appear more "professional." Strikingly offers a beautiful platform and ease of design. Similarly, the English language uses adverbs to facilitate the reader's understanding of action words - verbs. The danger lies when they become a crutch. We should always strive to show, not tell, but adverbs can be wonderfully, beautifully utilitarian, as well. Thank you, Strikingly.
