From the moment Ahmed curls up in the basement of Max's rented house in Brussels and falls asleep, you know he's going to stay, and the boys will form a special friendship.
But as time passes, can Max keep Ahmed a secret, even from the police officer who grew up in the house and suspects something's not right? Will Max help Ahmed find his Syrian father, or will the boys make things worse with their mad-cap journey across Europe to find freedom?
I also loved that the story was inspired by Belgium WWII hero, Albert Jonnart, who sheltered Jews in the house.
