We're waiting to see what the new Guys Read website is going to be like (it's under construction), and if there will be any new volumes forthcoming.
We were hooked on the first collection. My son loves the short story format and the fast-paced action at the core of many of the stories. In volume 2, there's an essay by Eoin Colfer, of Artemis Fowl fame, that reduces me to stitches every time.
As an educator, the series was a MUST as a resource for great, quirky, compelling short stories. After teaching "Harrison Bergeron" (Vonnegut), "Leiningen and the Ants," (Stephenson) and multiple stories by Ray Bradbury, my students much appreciated a switch to reading contemporary language.
