Ah, if only we could all "find our passion" at the bottom of a cup of hot chocolate!
That's exactly what the dragon in this series does.
Aventurine is an immature, soft-scaled dragon who wants to spread her wings and fly outside her family's cave, but on her first outing she is transformed by a food magician into a human girl -- all by drinking a cup of hot chocolate! Which just happens to be her life's passion, as well. She fenagles an apprenticeship at the Chocolate Heart, a nearby town's chocolatier's shop, and worms her way into the royal family's good graces.
The sequel shows how Silke, the Chocolate Heart's publicist and marketing director (she writes the advertising handbills), learns she can rely on Aventurine and the chocolatiers to always be there for her, as her family.
